With books, journals, special collections, bookable Group Room, the Reading Spa and more, the Sixth Form Library (for silent study and reading) and Sixth Form Study (for quiet working) are open to support Years 12-13 with research, coursework and reading for pleasure.

Renew your books up to three times as long as no one else is waiting for them.
Please remember that you are responsible for everything on your card.
Do let a member of the library staff know if you are working on a computer and need to leave it unattended for a few minutes – it may be logged off at times of high demand!
Book a laptop for a week or a weekend loan in the Sixth Form Library.
Bookings open on Mondays for the proceeding week. You can book a laptop for a week (Monday-Friday) or a weekend (Friday-Monday) loan. You need your Swanshurst Card to make and to collect your booking. Laptop bookings are yours to keep until 1.10pm on the day of return. You will need to save everything to a memory stick.
Book a laptop for lesson and lunchtime loan from Sixth Form Study.
Bookings open each morning for loans for that day. You need your Swanshurst Card to make and to collect your booking.
It is very important that you return your laptop on time as another student will be waiting for it – your entitlement to loan a laptop is withdrawn for a month if you are late!
You need your Swanshurst Card to make your booking. Leave your card with a member of the library staff whilst you are using the room.
There’s a laptop and projector available for use. Ask if you need whiteboard pens too.
It is very important that you reference correctly – you cannot gain the highest marks unless you do so, no matter how good the content of your completed piece of work!
We can offer one-to-one support or run lunchtime research tutorials for groups – just ask.
There’s a menu of spa treatments to choose from. Appointments are available throughout the year.
Successful Reading Buddies must make a commitment to read for one timetabled registration period per week and attend training sessions throughout the whole of the academic year.
use the computers for coursework. remember that the Sixth Form Library is for silent study and Sixth Form Study for quiet working. no food or drink – water is okay. keep your mobile phone on silent (no call use).
